Rural Legislative Forum - Federal Initiatives to Improve the Rural Economy
GreenSeam is pleased to invite you to attend the 35th annual Rural Legislative Forum – Federal Initiatives to Improve the Rural Economy.
This premier annual reception and dinner event joins key public leaders with a wide-range of attendees from the agriculture sector – from producers to manufacturing, to professional services, to education and research – in candid conversations about key issues facing the rural economy and potential solutions. We’ve invited a high-profile slate of speakers – so this year’s event promises to be one you don’t want to miss.
Upon taking office, President Trump established the Interagency Task Force on Agriculture and Rural Prosperity. This multi-agency task force is charged with producing a “serious plan” to address the current barriers to economic prosperity in rural America and examining how innovation, infrastructure and technology may play a role in long-term, sustainable rural prosperity. Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue, who chairs this Task Force, has been invited to speak to attendees and outline the Administration’s rural agenda.
Agriculture Leaders from Minnesota’s Congressional Delegation are invited to a panel discussion to offer their vision for the future of the rural economy. With Congress ramping up to consider reauthorization of the Farm Bill, this will be a fascinating conversation.
And finally, a yet to be determined ag executive will offer their perspective on how agribusiness is a key component to restoring rural prosperity.
