Ancient Tragedy/Modern War: Healing Modern War Trauma with Ancient Tragedy Join the Department of Greek, Latin, and Classical Studies for a discussion of the relevance of Greek tragedy, and its vivid depictions of warriors confronting issues of violence, trauma, mental illness, and suicide, to modern combat trauma, veteran suicide, and other issues facing military veterans and their families. Professor of Classics Eric Dugdale and special guest army veteran Dan Feehan will lead a discussion of Greek tragedy and its relevance to modern combat trauma and veteran suicide. Dan graduated from Georgetown University with a degree in International Politics and served two combat tours in Iraq. He served under the Obama administration as acting Assistant Secretary of Defense in the Pentagon. This event is co-sponsored by Peace, Justice, and Conflict Studies; Political Science; Psychology; and Theatre and Dance.
