Celebrating our 35th gallery season, the Carnegie Art Center, located in Mankato's Historic Carnegie Library is the region's largest dedicated visual arts gallery with rotating monthly exhibitions,artist studio rental space, education classes and a unique gift shop that connects the community to the work of local and regional artists. Our Gallery and Gift Shop hours: Thursday, 1-7 Friday, 1-4 Saturday, 11-5 The Carnegie is closed one week each month for gallery installation and January for building restoration projects. Beginning June 2016, handicap accessible construction.
Carnegie Art Center: Local Talent, paintings by Reed White
Opening February 7, and running through February 23, 2019 in the Carnegie Art Center's Cook Gallery, "Local Talent" a recent series of paintings by Reed White.
Reed White studied Fine Art at the U of M before receiving his BFA in illustration from College of Visual Arts in St. Paul. Reed also received a Master of Arts degree in painting from MSU in Mankato, where he is currently Adjunct Faculty for the Art Department.
Reed is a recipient of a 2018 Minnesota State Arts Board Artist Initiative Grant.
The public is invited to the opening reception Saturday February 9, 7-9 pm and a gallery talk on Saturday February 16, 3-4 pm.
