Carnegie Art Center: Photographic Light Paintings by Wes Taylor
This Event Occurred in the Past.
Opening October 10 and running through October 26, 2019 in the Carnegie Art Center's Rotunda and Fireplace Gallery, an exhibition of photographic light paintings by Wes Taylor
The public is invited to the opening reception Saturday October 19, 7-9 pm.
“Painting with light, light drawing, or light art performance photography are terms that describe photographic techniques of moving a light source while taking a long exposure photograph, either to illuminate a subject or space, or to shine light at the camera to 'draw', or by moving the camera itself during exposure of light sources. The final image is comprised of 12 to 30 small individual photographs of a scene and made whole by digital compositing in Adobe Photoshop.”
Taylor worked as a commercial/industrial photographer in Salt Lake City, Utah for 10 years. He now resides in Minnesota where he is a photography and video production instructor at South Central College, North Mankato.
The Carnegie Art Center, Southern Minnesota's largest dedicated visual arts gallery, has provided arts experiences to our community and gallery opportunities for our local and regional artists since 1981.
