CHAMBER MUSIC FESTIVAL DEBUTS

Thursday, June 6
3–4:30 pm
Peter McGuire and Bethel Balge, Artistic Directors, Presenters

June will feature the first appearance of the ProMusica Chamber Music Festival at Mankato’s Bethany Lutheran College. Founders hope it becomes an annual summer music festival committed to offering a venue for chamber music in southern Minnesota. One of the founders is Peter McGuire, a Mankato native who began studying violin at age 4 with Patti Tryhus at the Mankato Suzuki School. Peter was appointed to the violin section of the Minnesota Orchestra in 2003 and as acting associate concertmaster in 2011. Bethel teaches piano music history courses at Bethany Lutheran College and Martin Luther College in New Ulm. Their presentation will include music and more information about ProMusica and its inaugural festival.
