Christmas at the Cox House
This Event Occurred in the Past.
Discover how the Cox family celebrated the Christmas season and join a guided tour of their home on Saturday, December 8th from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and Sunday, December 9th from 1:00-5:00 p.m.
Saturday evening Judge Cox will escort guests by candlelight through his family’s home for a peek at how his wife and children are preparing for the upcoming holiday. After the tour guests can enjoy cookies and Calling Day Punch, listen to popular holiday music of the era in the formal parlor played on the square grand piano, and simply sit back and enjoy the home decked out in true Victorian splendor for the Christmas season.
Sunday at 2:00 p.m. the Coxes invite all the good little boys and girls to meet Santa Claus. They will hear a story, sing carols, and get a chance to tell Santa what they want for Christmas this year. Mr. and Mrs. Cox will be unavailable to give tours during this time so visit early or after 4:00 p.m. if you would like a guided tour.
Christmas at the Cox House is truly a favorite local tradition. Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for NCHS members and kids ages 13-17, and free for children ages 12 and younger. Purchase tickets at the door.
