Fiber Day: Spinning and Weaving

LocationChildren's Museum of Southern Minnesota located at 224 Lamm Street in Mankato

Join us at the Museum for a day all about wool!

10 am - 12 pm: The Pioneer Spinners & Fiber Guild will be at the Museum from 10 am until noon to demonstrate how to spin various types of wool on their spinning wheels. Museum visitors will have an opportunity to learn how to weave on small tabletop looms, too.

2 pm: Joe Domeier from Pehling Bay Farm will arrive at 2 pm for a one-hour spinning demonstration. Joe is also a sheep shearer and will be available to answer questions about shearing sheep.

Throughout out the day: Museum staff will facilitate pop-up wool carding activity in the Museum this day
