Melva Lind Interpretive Center
A novel respiratory virus is sweeping across China and is leaking into the rest of the world. TV and print news obsessively display footage of masked Chinese people. World economic markets are hesitant. Are our fears founded? Will this virus explode into a spreading pandemic? This talk will explore the biology of the coronavirus, how our body fights a virus infection, how viruses make us sick, how coronavirus infection might be treated, and seasonal features of coronavirus infection.
Dr. Lammert taught in the fields of immunology and microbiology at the Gustavus Biology Department for over 30 years.
