The Bend of the River Photography Club has once again worked with the Historical Society for their exhibit “Blue Earth County Through the Lens.”

Then and Now: Blue Earth County in 2019 is a collaboration project between Bend of the River Photography Club and the Blue Earth County Historical Society to document places in Blue Earth County through camera images. For this project, Photo Club members chose a historic image from extensive collection at the History Center. They photographed buildings and locations around Blue Earth County by standing where another photographer stood years prior. They referenced past photographs to document what exists in that place now.

The photo club is documenting history today. Years from now photographs, printed and carefully stored at the History Center, will be available for the next generation. “We hope they will enjoy our photographs as much as we have enjoyed recreating the ones from the past.”
